Community involvement

The Embrun Co-op was brought into being thanks to its founding members who shared a common vision of creating a cooperative entity that would provide products and services future generations could rely on.

The organization’s philosophy is to maximize results while encouraging a balance between the prices charged to members, the reinvestment in assets, the payment of member dividends and the increase of retained earnings.

The Embrun Co-op favours the involvement of its workforce in the community. Many participate in associations and in community meetings. Others are part of the Volunteer Firefighters Association and the Community Watch program. Some are in sports teams or are part of other clubs.

The directors are involved in local and regional organizations either as directors or as active members. The Embrun Co-op is represented at the Knights of Columbus, the Optimist Club, the Volunteer Firefighters Association, Club Richelieu, the Prescott-Russell Chamber of Commerce as well as the at the Ontario Feed and Seed Dealers Association and the Fertilizer Institute of Ontario.

The Embrun Co-op has played, is playing and will always play a major role in the community.
